The Ascended Masters - Who Are They?

The term Ascended Masters was not coined until the 1870s when Helena Blavatsky, Eastern Star Freemason and founder of the Theosophical Society, brought attention to the idea of secret initiatory knowledge, based on traditions transmitted to her by occult means from Masters, physical beings living in the Himalayas. Collectively, these Masters are called the “Great White Lodge.” The color white refers, not to their race, but to their white-colored aura. They claim they are spiritually enlightened beings who were ordinary humans in past lives, but have undergone a process of spiritual transformation.

The Ascended Master Mother Mary calls herself the female manifestation of the I AM presence, the Earth mother whose powerful and loving presence is not confined to any one religion. The statement is akin to Lucifer’s claim of divinity. Ascended Master Mary states that she is not only the reincarnation of the mother of Jesus, who was married to Joseph (Saint Germain), but before that, she was the mother of Jesus when he was David, king of Israel. She intercedes in healing—evidenced by the popularity of psychic healing—and shares her wisdom to enable humankind to experience self-empowerment. Through the Internet, she advises her followers to pray the rosary daily to prevent earthly catastrophes and enable her light presence to be revealed in the world.

Many popular New Age websites, such as The LightSource Group, feature messages from the Guides, which include messages from Mother Mary professing her love for all of us, despite our human mistakes. The Guides tell us what is in store for planet earth and offer advice about how spiritual growth can improve personal relationships. For those looking for a particular Guide, they offer a list of spiritual entities that can be contacted to help people with a variety of problems. Among them are angels, such as the Archangel Uriel, Archangel Gabriel, and Archangel Michael. There are also many Catholic saints, including Padre Pio, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Saint Francis of Assisi, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Pope John Paul II, and many other pontiffs, who are intermixed with Indians, occultists, gurus, and famous Americans.

Other masters claim to be reincarnations of Jesus Christ, but call themselves Jesus Sananda and Lord Maitreya. Maitreya says he is a being of pure light, from whom both the Christ and the Buddha descended to earth. He is very active in human endeavors today, especially in the teaching of spiritual paths that lead toward “higher vibration and Oneness consciousness.” Sananda is described as the “Higher Self” of Isa, who became the Christ. These demonic entities are not to be confused with the Son of God and the Blessed Mother. Even Jesus Sananda warns, through seers, that channeling spirits is a dangerous proposition that involves risks. One of the risks he fails to mention is that of falling into a deadly demonic trap because the spirits who impersonate Jesus, Mary, and the saints do not tell the truth. No two websites contain exactly the same information because the demons say whatever they think is necessary to ensnare their victim's souls.
